Hubei rescue teams rush to assist Jingzhou residents affected by floods
From Sunday night to Monday, Jingzhou in Central China's Hubei province was hit by extreme rainfall, triggering urban waterlogging.
At around 6 am on Monday, Hubei's fire and rescue team sent 1,410 firefighters, more than 90 rescue vehicles, 1,500 sets of rescue equipment, and 100 boats to carry out rescue operations in Jingzhou.
As of 5 pm on Monday, the team has evacuated more than 1,000 stranded residents, reinforced 2,100 meters of dikes, and drained approximately 110,000 cubic meters of floodwater. All rescue work is proceeding in an orderly manner, and waterlogging in the surrounding areas is gradually easing.
The team has reminded residents to avoid non-essential outings and wading in floodwaters. In case of an emergency, they should dial 110 or 119 immediately for help.
