While rural dwellings are becoming more and more like their urban counterparts, students from 22 Chinese and foreign universities, such as Tsinghua and Politecnico Di Milano in Italy, recently finished designing 22 houses in Longdong village in Deyang, Southwest China's Sichuan province.
With simple materials such as wood, bricks and steel, the houses they designed are in harmony with the hilly village's natural environment.
On Sunday morning, a ceremony was held in Deyang to honor these prize-winning designs.
