TEHRAN - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that the Istanbul talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (G5+1) will be held on January 21-22.

Iran and the G5+1 will cooperate together to "find common grounds for cooperation" as was agreed in Geneva last month, Mehmanparast said at his weekly press briefing.

Earlier this month, the Turkish daily Taday's Zaman reported that Turkey is to host Iran nuclear talks in Istanbul on January 20- 21.

The two-day nuclear talks between Iran and the six world powers including China, France, Russia, Britain, the United States and Germany, earlier last month in Geneva, failed to achieve concrete agreements apart from a plan to hold another round of dialogue in January next year in Istanbul.
