The Scottish Highlands
The Scottish Highlands, simply known as the Highlands, refers to the area north and west of the Highland Boundary Fault. There are many mountain ranges in the region, including the highest peak in the British Isles, Ben Nevis. The highlands area is sparsely populated and is famous for its wilderness and primitive natural beauty.
