An illness during infancy damaged Su Qi's eyesight and caused learning difficulties.

Before she came to the Sunshine Home, Su was shy and withdrawn. Since she entered the home her self-confidence has returned and she enjoys engaging with people.

Born in 1973, Tang Xia lost her hearing at the age of three.

After graduating from school, Tang found it difficult to get work. Consequently she decided to open her own business and now her noodle canteen is one of the most popular in Nantong.
