June 13 marks China's 2026 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. To further share the stories of Chinese civilization with the world and promote greater international understanding of Chinese culture, the Department of Policies and Regulations of National Cultural Heritage Administration, China Daily Culture Channel, and China Bound — the smart-tourism service platform launched by China Daily — jointly launch the 2026 Cultural Heritage International Communication Call for Submissions, inviting photo and video works on the theme of cultural heritage from participants around the globe.
The initiative welcomes submissions from museums, cultural heritage institutions, and cultural heritage enthusiasts worldwide. Works may explore, but are not limited to, the following topics:
1. Cultural heritage and everyday life
Showcasing how cultural heritage is integrated into contemporary life and serves the public's cultural needs.
2. China in museums
Highlighting symbols and cultural elements of Chinese civilization embodied in museum and memorial hall collections, as well as archaeological artifacts.
3. Me and Chinese civilization
Capturing memorable moments of interaction and exchange between overseas visitors, Chinese tourists, young people, and Chinese cultural heritage.
4. On the frontlines of heritage protection
Documenting scenes related to the 4th National Cultural Relics Census, cultural relic restoration, archaeological excavations, and the conservation of historical architecture.
5. Mutual learning among civilizations
Reflecting themes such as Chinese culture reaching the world, international cultural exchanges and cooperation, and joint heritage protection efforts.
6. Youth and heritage
Highlighting young people's participation in cultural heritage communication.
The submission deadline is Sept 30, 2026.
