Nepalese foreign minister to visit China
Nepalese Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal will visit China from Sunday to Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian announced on Friday.
China and Nepal are traditional friendly neighbors, Lin said at a regular news conference.
China attaches great importance to its relations with Nepal and stands ready to use the visit as an opportunity to work with Nepal's new government to enhance political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and further promote their strategic partnership of cooperation, he said.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, the two countries have always upheld the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and supported each other in safeguarding independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, Lin said.
In October 2019, the two countries elevated their relations to a strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity, he added.
Nepal smoothly completed its general election as scheduled in March and successfully formed a new government. Lin said China extends congratulations to Nepal and supports the country in achieving unity, stability, development and prosperity.
