New Silk Road US Grand Finals held in New York
The US Grand Finals of the 2026 New Silk Road International Children's Model Competition and the 33rd New Silk Road China Model Competition were held on June 7 at The Westin Flushing LaGuardia Airport in New York.
Jointly organized by J.I.A. International Culture Media Group and the American Dancers Association, the event brought together nearly 100 child and adult models from across the United States. Representing diverse cultural backgrounds, the contestants shared the runway in a celebration of fashion, art, cultural exchange and international friendship.
As one of the most influential and recognized brands in the global fashion industry, the New Silk Road Model Competition is dedicated to discovering outstanding modeling talent, promoting the development of the fashion industry and fostering international cultural exchange. This year's US National Finals featured children's and adult divisions, providing aspiring models with an international platform to showcase their talent, pursue their dreams and step onto the global stage.
In his opening remarks, David Cui, chief planner and executive director of the competition, president of J.I.A. International Culture Media Group, founder of the Starlight Youth Talent Competition USA, and chairman of the North America Committee of the New Silk Road International Competition, stated:
"The New Silk Road Competition is not only a platform for showcasing fashion, beauty, and talent, but also an important bridge for international cultural exchange and youth development. We hope to help more young people build confidence, broaden their global perspectives, and pursue their dreams in a diverse and multicultural environment."
The event was hosted by Yang Yang, vice-chair of the North America Committee of the New Silk Road Competition, organizer of the Los Angeles Division, and a renowned television host, together with three youth emcees — Olivia Genesis, Jaylen Ma and Rebecca Obando — reflecting the competition's commitment to promoting multicultural exchange and mutual understanding. Art Director Zhang Zhi and Executive Director Chen Wang also provided professional leadership and support, contributing to the successful presentation of the event.
During the event, internationally renowned models Xaiver Walker, Daria Nazarova and Diana Pohorila served as judges and engaged in discussions with outstanding contestants. Pohorila spoke highly of the participants, commending their confidence, professionalism, and international-caliber stage presence.
The 2026 Grand Awards were presented to Angelina Wang and Stefaniia Prokaeva in recognition of their outstanding achievements and performances throughout the competition.
The event also featured an online Popularity Voting Competition, which attracted enthusiastic participation from audience members and online supporters. Following a highly competitive voting process, Allie Ye was awarded the 2026 New Silk Road US National Finals Popularity Champion title.
A highlight of the event was the signing ceremony held with the renowned EMG Modeling Agency. Five outstanding young models who signed with EMG were recognized during the ceremony: Yunxuan Liang (18), Angelina Wang (13), Ava Lin (12), Ruoxin Ni (11) and Ally Huang (9). Their successful signing marks an important step toward future opportunities on the international fashion stage.
Four designer brands — Yuanshang Youyou, Kalokuma, Young Gods and My Little Matilda — presented a series of spectacular fashion showcases. International child models appeared on the runway wearing traditional Chinese hanfu, while Chinese contestants presented contemporary designs influenced by global fashion trends. The unique fusion of Eastern and Western cultures on the runway drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
