Chinese courier service provider J&T Express Co Ltd has been put under investigation for the occurrence of multiple safety incidents and the discovery of potential safety hazards, the State Post Bureau announced on Thursday.

Since the beginning of this year, multiple production safety incidents have happened in companies operating under the "J&T Express" trademark and trade name. Also, inspections have repeatedly found potential safety hazards at their sites, the bureau said in a statement.

It said the bureau has decided to initiate an investigation into J&T Express in accordance with the law, as the company has been found lacking in the safety production management of related enterprises and has failed to implement unified safety assurance management as required.

Regarding the investigation, J&T Express takes the matter very seriously and sincerely, and fully cooperates with the competent authorities in conducting all investigations in accordance with the law and regulations, the company said in a statement released on Thursday.

Safety production is a red line that enterprises must not cross. J&T Express has deeply reflected on this and feels that, as the brand headquarters, there are deficiencies in fulfilling the unified management responsibility for safety assurance in some enterprises using the "J&T Express" trademark and trade name. The lessons are profound. J&T Express China sincerely accepts supervision in this regard, it said.

It added that J&T Express has promptly established a special task force, led by the safety officer, to carry out work on identifying and rectifying safety hazards in production by strengthening the unified management responsibility, checking risk points in key areas such as sorting and unloading and equipment maintenance.

The company also vowed to enhance the safety assurance of frontline personnel by strengthening safety production education and on-the-job safety training, increasing the allocation of on-site safety officers, protective facilities and emergency supplies.

Founded in 2015, J&T Express has become a global logistics service provider with express delivery businesses in Southeast Asia and China, with a network spanning 13 countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, Brazil and Egypt.

In 2025, J&T Express surpassed the 30 billion mark in total parcel volume for the first time by reaching 30.13 billion, a 22.2 percent increase from the previous year, the company said.
