Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, along with a county-level city and a county under its jurisdiction, signed agreements with four international cities on Thursday to establish or deepen friendly cooperative ties, expanding its global network of sister cities and friendly cooperation cities to 257.
At the opening ceremony of the 2026 Chengdu International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Development Conference, Chengdu signed a memorandum of understanding with Managua, Nicaragua, to establish friendly cooperation, and a separate MoU with Johannesburg, South Africa, to foster friendly exchanges and cooperation.
