Beijing blasts Lai Ching-te's 'stowaway-style' Eswatini trip
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Beijing has blasted Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te's?"stowaway-style" visit to Eswatini,?saying such move proves that "Taiwan independence" separatist activities are unacceptable to the international community.
Describing the weekend trip as nothing but a scandal and a stunt, ministry spokesman Lin Jian said Lai sneaked?onto a foreign plane and cheated himself into Eswatini, by colluding with the country to conceal passenger information.
On the return flight, after being denied overflight by relevant countries, Lai again attempted to force his way through by covert means, Lin said.
By cheating his way into Eswatini and forcing his way back, Lin said Lai had engaged in dangerous and reckless activity that ignored the territorial integrity, airspace and sovereignty of the countries concerned.
Lin added that China strongly condemns the politicians in Eswatini who provided space for "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, saying that such moves run counter to the historical trend.
China urges the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces to turn back from the wrong course, which is the only right choice, he added.
