Beijing ready to welcome a deep pool of international diving talent
The World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2026 - Super Final will be held from May 1 - 3 at Beijing's National Aquatics Center, better known as the "Water Cube".
More than 90 top divers from 17 countries and regions are expected to compete in the season's premier event.
At a news conference on Tuesday, organizers announced that nine events will be contested over three days, including men's and women's 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform, synchronized events and the mixed team competition.
While synchronized and mixed events will follow traditional scoring rules, individual competitions will continue using the knockout format introduced in 2025. Athletes will progress from head-to-head rounds to semifinals, with scores reset before the final, where rankings are decided — adding greater suspense and spectator appeal.
"This will be the 11th time the Water Cube hosts a World Aquatics diving event," said Fu Yuchao, head of the diving department at the Swimming Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, noting the venue's strong track record in hosting the sport's top events.
"Over the past 10 editions, the organizing committee has earned widespread recognition from World Aquatics, international technical officials and participating teams for its professional operations and comprehensive services," Fu said. "These experiences provide a solid foundation for the successful staging of this year's Super Final."
