The Engineering and Materials Science Award went to Wu Kai, chief scientist at Chinese battery giant CATL. The Information Technology and Space Science Award was presented to Teng Shanghua, a distinguished professor at the University of Southern California. The Life Sciences and Medicine Award was awarded to Xia Qiang, a chief physician and professor at Renji Hospital, affiliated with the university's School of Medicine.
