Li Chunliang, former deputy head of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, also known as the National Park Administration, has been charged with bribery and bribery through the use of influence, according to an announcement issued by the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Monday.

Dezhou People's Procuratorate, Shandong province, was designated to handle the case, and it has recently filed a public prosecution with the Dezhou Intermediate People's Court.

The case was previously investigated by the National Commission of Supervision and later transferred to prosecutors for examination and prosecution.

According to the SPP, Li took advantage of his multiple former positions, including senior roles in the Communist Party of China Central Committee's Organization Department and as deputy head of the former State Forestry Administration and later the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, to seek benefits for others and illegally accept large sums of money and valuables.

Prosecutors also alleged that after leaving office, Li used the influence derived from his former positions, through the acts of other state functionaries, to seek improper benefits for others and again accepted particularly large sums of money and valuables.

He should be held criminally liable for the crimes of bribery and bribery through the use of influence, the SPP's announcement said.

During the review and prosecution stage, procurators informed Li of his procedural rights, questioned him, and heard the opinions of his defense counsel.

Li, 63, is a native of Hebei province and joined the Party in March 1984. He became deputy head of the State Forestry Administration in December 2016 and retained the post after the 2018 institutional reform that created the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and retired in 2023. In December 2023, Li was elected president of the China Wildlife Conservation Association.

He came under disciplinary and supervisory investigation in May 2025 and was expelled from the Party in November.
