Shigatse, Tibet autonomous region, announced to resume normal life and production comprehensively starting on Saturday, according to a statement released by the city's leading group fighting the coronavirus on Thursday, as the epidemic prevention situation in most parts of the region continues to improve.

Shigatse has been making solid progress in curbing the region's latest outbreak, which first emerged in early August. According to the statement, the city will allow the flow of people in various walks of life and all kinds of certifications will be canceled at different sites. A 48-hour negative nucleic acid test result is needed for public places.

The plateau city has not reported any locally confirmed COVID-19 cases or asymptomatic carriers for more than two weeks, according to the regional Health Commission.

Starting on Saturday, communities with no reported cases within seven days will cease closed-loop or half-closed-loop management.

Service staff, including delivery workers and maintenance operators, will be allowed to enter and exit communities after strict body temperatures measurement and upon presentation of a valid health code, travel code and negative nucleic acid test result.

Public transportation, taxi, and shuttle buses will resume operations, and personal vehicles will be allowed to resume normal operations without the limit of an approval certificate.

Schools will soon reopen for on-site teaching, and various businesses in markets will resume normal operation.

Crowd gatherings in libraries, museums, gyms and hotels will be subject to a half-open model, with the number of reception personnel not to exceed 50 percent, it said.
