China's new top legislator thanks journalists
BEIJING - Li Zhanshu, newly elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), visited reporting staff with Chinese media organizations and thanked them for their outstanding coverage of the NPC session.
Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, appreciated the "remarkable, bold, creative, and encouraging" reports of the past few weeks while greeting journalists from several organizations, including the People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and the China Central Television.
The coverage of this year's NPC session has taken the right political direction, maintained the right tone and spread positive energy, said Li.
The first session of the 13th NPC was held from March 5 to 20.
