Singapore?- Japanese Minister of Defense Toshimi Kitazawa said on Saturday that Japan will begin a thorough investigation into the nuclear incident once the work to close the incident finished.

He said so in a speech at the 10th Shangri-La Dialogue, an annual Asian security summit held by the IISS, London.

The investigation will be carried in cooperation with the IAEA, International Atomic Energy Agency, he added.

"We hope to share what we learn from this investigation in an open and transparent manner with the international community," he said. Japan has been suffering from a serious radiation crisis at the Fukushima plant, which was knocked out by the tsunami and earthquake happened earlier in the year, influencing global development of the nuclear power application.

Germany has recently announced a plan to close all nuclear power plants within its territory.

Kitazawa thanked the international community's aids to Japan in dealing with the disaster, adding that he hopes the lessons that Japan is learning in this unprecedented issue could help others to be better prepared in the future.
