South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said two additional radiation detectors were installed on Friday morning at Gimhae International Airport and an international port terminal for passengers, both located in the southeastern port city of Busan, due to a large number of passengers entering into South Korea from Japan via Busan.

After the installation of four detectors on Thursday, unusually high levels of radiation were detected on four passengers arriving at Incheon International Airport from Japan.

One of them, a Japanese man in his 50s from Fukushima prefecture, site of the nuclear power station damaged in last week 's earthquake and tsunami, had a reading exceeding 1 microsievert from his hat and coat, several times the normal reading. His readings fell to normal levels once he removed the coat and took off his shoes.

They were released after their radiation levels were confirmed to pose no public health risk.
