A soccer team comprised of players from the Spanish Consulate General in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, won a tournament over the weekend, a simulated event of the upcoming UEFA Euro 2016.

Participants in the tournament, organized by Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F, included 10 teams from consulate generals of European countries in Guangzhou, including France, the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Norway and Switzerland.

The Spanish consulate general team won 1-0 over the UK side at the final.

The Euro 2016 is scheduled to be held in France from Friday to July 10, with Spain as the two-time defending champion.
