KATHMANDU - More than 2,700 medical staffs are now working in Nepal and have treated a total of 53,434 injured and quake related patients, according to the country's ministry of health.

A total of 1,600 personnel from 85 international medical teams are deployed under this ministry, said the ministry of health and population in a press release on Wednesday.

In addition to this large number, 1,000 members of Non- Residential Nepalese medical team are working over the affected areas.

More than 100 Nepalese doctors are also working in the field for the quake affected people.

Khag Raj Adhikari, minister for health and population, on his Wednesday visit to Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk ordered the Chief District Officers (CDOs) to complete the remaining operations.

He also ordered the health officials to fulfill the medicinal demand as quick as possible.

The minister warned the officials that the government will take action against the absent government workers in this disastrous situation.
