WASHINGTON - Less people are expected to shop on line for Cyber Monday this year, as more discounts are expected through the entire holiday season, a survey released on Sunday.

More than 126 million consumers are expected to shop online on Cyber Monday, down slightly from the 131.6 million last year, said the survey of the National Retail Federation (NRF).

"For today's shopper, every day is 'Cyber Monday,' and consumers want and expect great deals, especially online, throughout the entire holiday season," said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay in a statement.

"Retailers will still offer unique deals exclusive to Cyber Monday, but consumers also know shopping on Cyber Monday won't be their last chance to find low prices and exclusive promotions," Shay said.

About 97.6 percent of online retailers are expected to offer specific Cyber Monday deals, according to a recent survey from Shop.org.

On the same day, NRF published its prediction for the sales through the Thanksgiving weekend. The number is $50.9 billion, lower than the $57.4 billion reached in 2013, as consumers'holiday shopping habit gradually changed.
