OTTAWA - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper strongly condemned on Wednesday the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India that killed at least 21 persons and injured 113 others.

"These attacks are a stark reminder that terrorism is alive and active around the globe and can strike at any time," said Harper in a statement.

He expressed Canada's support to India's work to "bring to justice those responsible for these cowardly attacks against innocent people," and called on "all countries to work together and take necessary precautions to combat the scourge who perpetrate these atrocities."

He also offered "deep and profound" sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

Three serial blasts rocked India's financial hub Mumbai Wednesday evening. The local government believed it is a terror attack that reminded of the 2008 terror attack killing 166.
