The news agency quoted India's Atomic Energy Commission Anil Kakodkar as saying in Bangalore that the first consignment of 120 tons of uranium pellets from Russia had already landed in India, and the government was engaged in a dialogue with international vendor countries to get more such supplies.

Kakodkar said the uranium to be used in reactors had been delivered under a kind of a long-term contract with Russia, said the report.

India also has a contract with Areva of France and uranium has come from France as well, the report quoted Kakodkar, also Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy, as saying.
