Chamaree Cheupetcharasopon of Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok says Sudarat Keyuraphan is being treated with Tamiflu and that her condition is improving.

Forty-eight-year-old Sudarat was hospitalized Wednesday after tests confirmed she had the H1N1 virus.

Chamaree said Friday that Sudarat was "coughing a little but no longer has fever."

Sudarat was health minister from 2001 to 2005.

Thailand's health ministry has reported 81 H1N1-flu deaths and estimates 350,000-500,000 cases, most of whom have recovered without severe symptoms.
