Many rural families in Gansu province are now asking grooms' families to pay high bride prices -- based on the bride's education level, Lanzhou Morning Post reported. The price for a bride with an undergraduate degree is as much as 100,000 yuan ($16,420), while one with a polytechnic?degree 800,000 yuan,?the report?said.
