The Brexit has reignited Beijinger Zhang Ying's longing to return to the United Kingdom.

She studied in Britain for a year in 2012. She later toured much of the UK, including Scotland and London.

"The falling exchange rate may provide an incentive for me to visit again soon," she says.

The pound plunged to a 30-year low against the US dollar and the euro on June 24, and has continued to plummet.

The short-term depreciation will make shopping in Europe cheaper while slashing expenses for UK visits, predicts China's biggest online travel agency, Ctrip.

"Chinese visits (to Japan and Russia) doubled when the yen and rouble depreciated," says Ctrip's tourism department's chief marketing officer, Shi Yuduan.

"Consumption surged. Ctrip's app has seen a swell in activity for UK packages since last week's Brexit."
