Rio de Janeiro's subway Line 4, which connects Barra da Tijuca to Ipanema, started running on Sunday. The new line is 16 kilometers long and has six stations. It shortens by at least one hour the time it takes to go from the Barra district to the south. During the Olympic Games only those with game tickets will be able to use this subway line.
