Romanian coach Cosmi Contra has agreed to sign a contract with Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F, the club announced on Thursday.

The Romanian, 39, will soon leave the Spanish La Liga side Getafe to join the Guangzhou club, which will compete for the first time in the AFC Championship League in February.

The Guangzhou club did not release details about the transfer, but added that

Spanish midfielder Miguel Alfonso Herrero Javaloyas will also join the Chinese side.

Before beginning his coaching career in 2010, Contra, a right defender, played for several big European clubs, including Italian giant AC Milan, West Bromwic and Altico Madrid.
