Football twins to challenge Beckham(CRI)Updated: 2007-07-25 14:11 Sun Ji and Sun Xiang, the twin brothers in Chinese Football Super League side Shanghai Shenhua, have been invited to take part in a competition featuring free-kick masters later this year - in Houston, the United States. 24 international football big shots, including booming Argentine star Messi and Portuguese veteran Luis Figo, were to take the opportunity to display their stunting skills and compete for the title of 'world's No.1 free-kicker'. The English soccer star, David Beckham who is now playing for the US Major League Soccer side, Los Angeles Galaxy, will be also take part in the event, whose champion will be awarded one million US dollars. The twins' talent in free kicks was widely recognized after their trial training tour in the Dutch powerhouse PSV Eindhoven last year, after which the younger Sun Xiang was transferred on loan to play for the club for the second half of last season. |
