Injured Li Xiaopeng a doubt for worlds(Reuters)Updated: 2007-07-17 16:38 BEIJING - Olympic champion gymnast Li Xiaopeng is a doubt for September's world championships in Germany, Chinese media reported on Tuesday. China Team manager Zhang Peiwen was quoted in the Beijing News as saying he was concerned Li would not be fit enough for the team competition. The 27-year-old - parallel bars and team competition gold medallist at Sydney in 2000 - has struggled with a toe fracture since March. "He is fit for parallel bars, but not for the other events which need more strength of feet," Zhang said. |
