E-town to host 20 tech innovation centers by 2020

A total of 20 technological innovation centers will be set up in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (E-town) by the end of 2020 to boost regional economy, according to Beijing Daily.
Constructed in 1992, E-town was approved by the State Council as the only national economic technological development area in Beijing on August 25, 1994.
Ever since, the development area has adhered to intensive, clustered, innovative and environmentally-friendly development. Fortune Top-500 companies and world-renowned multinational corporations have flocked here.
"Beijing E-town" has become a high-end tech hub with international influence.
Now E-town boasts seven innovation research institutes and 40 innovation platforms.
Also, Beijing Venture Capital Investment Service Alliance (BVCISA) was set up in the district to facilitate innovation.
