The 15th Summer Paralympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro from September 7 to 18. This is the first international comprehensive sports event China has taken part in after it won the hosting rights for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics. There will be 4,350 athletes from over 160 countries and regions, competing in 22 big events and 528 small events. According to the rules of the International Paralympic Committee, only athletes and teams with certain marks or ranks are qualified to take part in Paralympics. Up to July 8 this year, China has won 308 qualifications in 17 events for the Paralympics, higher than those accumulated before the 2012 London Para Games.

At present, 322 athletes from 17 teams are receiving final training in different cities in China.
