Recently, Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park unveiled a development plan for strategic emerging industries, aimed at accelerating growth and promoting innovation in emerging industries.

The plan identifies targets of strategic emerging industries in technological innovation, public platform and industrial basement construction. For example, to achieve annual revenues of 400 billion yuan ($65 billion) in the Internet industry, Haidian Park of Zhongguancun will build the next generation Internet public service platform and creative park.

"We have conducted large scale market research and consulted numerous specialists prior to the establishment of the plan," the director of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park said.

It is estimated that in 2015, the total revenue of the high technology industry will hit 1.6 trillion yuan ($260.9 billion).
