On Nov 8, 2009, the upgrading roads project in the Beijiang Port Area was initiated. After the project is complete in June 2010, traffic pressure will be alleviated and the traffic capacity will increase in the northern port area.

Tianjin Port will also gradually upgrade and expand the main roads inside the port area so that there is a smoother connection to the highway network by 2010.

From 2015 to 2020, Tianjin Port will complete the road upgrades and open several special railway lines to build a modern comprehensive transportation system that integrates railway, highway, pipelines and waterways.
