The ongoing international China wine fair (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo 2011 - held in Guiyang, Southwest China’s Guizhou province, is expected to generate a total investment of nearly 120 billion yuan, said the organizer.

More than 12,000 guests, dealers and members of the public, including China’s Vice-Premier Wang Qishan and the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Jiang Zengwei attended the gala.

Jiang made a speech at the opening ceremony held on Thursday, saying “the alcoholic and beverages expo will build an ideal business platform for wine traders and will help companies explore overseas markets”.

Li Zhanshu, Party chief of Guizhou province, said that the provincial government of Guizhou pledges to offer expo-participants preferential policies “as comparable as possible”, while every investor’s legal rights and interests must be well protected.

More than 1,800 wine traders are expected to sign at least 1,600 commercial contracts worth 44 billion yuan during the three-day-long expo, the organizer said.
