SHANGHAI - A charitable project was initiated at the Shanghai Technical School for Young Deaf-mutes on Sunday (March 6) to aid disabled people.

The project aims to serve as a platform for people to involve themselves into charities by positioning coin-throwing machines citywide, said Li Changbin, founder of China Charitable Aid Website.

"We want to stimulate more people to show their love to deaf-mutes," said Li. The project is scheduled to fix 5,000 to 10,000 coin-throwing machines in the city within three months. Money collected from each equipment will be used to aid a disabled person, he said.

The website, joining hands with Beijing Guolian Huawen International Culture Media Co Ltd, signed an agreement with the school at the project-launching ceremony to set up the Love Fund for Charities. The website and the company will input 10,000 yuan into the fund monthly, Li said.
