Hebei to up spending on tourism promotion

Hebei province will spend 120 million yuan on tourism promotion campaigns on CCTV this year, said Wang Xinyong, head of the province’s tourist bureau and a member of the CPPCC Hebei provincial committee.

Wang said in an interview on Jan 1 that the bureau will continue a marketing strategy that uses varied media platforms in different cities to promote tourism in Hebei. He expects total advertising cos to exceed 300 million yuan, he said.

The advertising campaign will focus on golf, hot springs, skiing, hunting, equestrian sports, yacht excursions and other high-end tourism activities.

The bureau chief also said that in addition to advertisements in national media, Hebei will increase its investments in regional outdoor advertisements throughout the country this year.
