Iraqi taekwondo team murder

Some 15 athletes and officials of the Iraqi taekwondo team were kidnapped on May 17, 2006 as they headed to Jordan for a training camp. None of the athletes were seen alive again. Members of the Anbar Salvation Council, a group of Sunni tribal leaders who have partnered with US and Iraqi officials to fight al-Qaida influence in Anbar, found the 13 bodies on June 16, 2007, west of Ramadi, near the main highway leading to Jordan.
