Hailstones as big as ping-pong balls fell in Dafengdong town of Kaili city in Guizhou province on April 12, 2012. A hailstorm bashed four towns in Kaili, affecting 36,600 people and causing a direct economic loss of 26.7 million yuan ($3.97 million). The storm lasted for 10 minutes, injuring 13 people and causing the relocation of 610. Disaster relief work is under way. [Photo/CFP] |
