Zhu Mingguo, Deputy Party Secretary of Guangdong province, urged local officials to address issues of people in a timely manner amid recent protests against land use in the southern Chinese village of Wukan, according to Yangcheng Evening News, based in Guangdong province. He criticized harshly some officials who ignored the concerns of local people as long as they could while ordinary people increased their awareness of equality and rights. |
