We have a totally different value system in which the westerners emphasize individual heroism while Chinese people pay more attention to group wisdom. Besides, Chinese filmmakers lack some special skills in movie making, which is one of the reasons we cannot match to the international standards. What's more, sometimes we have no good screenplays and storylines. You can also see that recently some films have started to show more skin to draw viewers' attention.
