A Volunteer Flag Presenting Ceremony of the 13th National Winter Games was held on Dec 1, with nearly 500 volunteers attending.

"As a fan of curling, I’m thrilled to volunteer and am looking forward to it," said Chen Hailong, a student from the Xinjiang Vocational School.

"I feel lucky to be selected as a volunteer and I think the game is like a test for our ability. And I will try my best to fulfill the task," said Song Yantao, a volunteer who is also a fan of skating.

A total of 1400 volunteers were recruited, from 16 to 52 years old. Among them, university students accounted for 90 percent. Around 18 percent of the volunteers have previous experience in similar events such as the Olympics, and Asian Olympics.

Most of the volunteers are fans of figure skating, skiing and curling.
