Shanxi University' s president, Jia Suotang, vice-president Cheng Fangqin, and Li Sidian, deputy secretary of the school's Party committee, visited its energy materials laboratory on April 18 and witnessed the solid oxide fuel power generator at work.

The efficient and ecofriendly device was developed through the joint efforts of Professor Li Sidian, Shao Zongping and Zhou Wei.

Considering Shanxi province's rich reserves of coalbed methane, the research team intends to use it for generating electricity, which is expected to improve the capacity of the gas industry, and contribute to the development of an ecofriendly society and low-carbon economy.
