Yellow rice cake is a common foodstuff in Datong. It is made of yellow rice. Mix the flour with warm water into lumps, steam it and then rub it with hands while smearing some sesame oil in the surface to prevent the cake from cracking.
When finished, people will cut the cake into small blocks and eat them with meat dishes. They are soft and very delicious.
