The Shanxi transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone Distribution Power Co, the first power distribution company with mixed ownership in Shanxi province, has recently started operation.
The company was founded by State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Co, Shanxi JR Shichuang Energy Co, Huaneng Shanxi Integrated Energy Co and Taiyuan High-tech Industry Construction and Development Co in February 2018 with shareholders made up of the power grid, power generation stations, government-owned investment companies and private businesses.
The power company services an area of about 212.76 square kilometers, covering 54,344 clients. The company's projected electricity sales amount to 340 million kWh annually, which makes it the largest incremental power distribution pilot project in China.
