Shanxi Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention signed a partnership agreement with BGI, a world-leading genomic tech company based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on Dec 18.
It’s the first partnership between Shanxi and Guangdong provinces in the healthcare and medicine field.
The two sides will cooperate in establishing the Shanxi Disease Sample Resource Center using the China National GeneBank in Shenzhen, conduct research on molecular biology, gene engineering, screening and prevention of chronic diseases in Shanxi province through bio-sample collection, as well as carry out early identification of disease and screening of high-risk groups with precise gene detection technology.
In addition, BGI and Shanxi Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention will cooperate in providing training to future medical professionals in Shanxi province.
