The first tourist train heading for Taiyuan, capital city of Shanxi, from Datong Railway Station started running on May 27, shortening the travel time between the two cities to within three hours.
The Y665 train, consisting of six carriages with hard seats, one hard sleeper, and one soft sleeper, runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It is 50 minutes faster than any other existing travel mode between the two cities.
