The second Shanxi Lunar New Year's Goods Festival opened in the China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center on Jan 30.

The festival focuses on finding and buying goods for the lunar new year and will last until Feb 8. A series of activities will be held during the festival to create a happy and peaceful shopping experience for residents in Shanxi.

The festival covers goods exhibition, folk custom and temple fair activities, as well as local cultural celebrations. It fully displays Shanxi's quality agricultural products and cultural characteristics. Candy, wine, special agricultural food, clothes, furniture, home appliances, holiday products, folk culture, intangible cultural heritage and local culture are on display, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. More than 400 enterprises are attending the event.
Celebrities from Shanxi arts and crafts associations, as well as intangible heritage successors and arts and crafts masters, were invited to give performance for the festival. Young artists from Shanxi Jin Opera Theater are also giving various opera performances for locals on a daily basis.
