At the closing ceremony of Pingyao county's first Micro Film Festival, on Sept 23 in the Drama Hall of Pingyao, Shanxi province, there were awards for Best Micro Motion Picture, Best Original Screenplay and a number of others to encourage the production, investment, and communications in the micro film business.
The gold award went to "To My Dearest Father", silver awards went to "Taste of Happiness" and "To Love, To Come Home", and bronzes to "Loss of An Eraser" and three others. There was also an honorable mention given to 10 works, including "Love Song of Zi Juan".
The festival, whose theme was "Pursuing Dreams in Pingyao", is a top culture brand, whose organizers chose Pingyao to take advantage of its influence as a World Cultural Heritage site and to serve micro film lovers.
They also set up a website, a Sina micro blog account, and email address at the beginning of the year to solicit scripts, micro motion pictures and documentaries about hometowns and enterprises to show to the public during the festival. And there will be other activities held later, such as a micro film premiere, exhibitions, and seminars.
