Shanxi province will establish four coking coal industrial parks, each with an annual production capacity of 10 million tons, according to the province’s Economic and Information Technology Committee on Sept 10.

Led by the ongoing pilot project in Xiaoyi, a city in Shanxi, the establishment of coking industrial parks will extend to three other cities: Yuncheng, Linfen and Jinzhong. Local governments are making detailed arrangements for merging and reorganizing current enterprises, allocating and integrating new coking plants, eliminating inefficient enterprises and setting up large capacity replacement coke oven projects.

The pilot project in Xiaoyi is expected to provide an example to address issues regarding simultaneous production among different enterprises, integration between old and new coking projects, inter-logistics, sewage treatment and centralized processing.
